Need an AWESOME Wedding Blessing?

Need an AWESOME Wedding Blessing?

Feb 17, 2015

Every father dreams of giving their daughter away one day at a beautiful wedding. They see themselves speaking words of blessing and encouragement over the bride and the groom during that special day. Well, at least that is MY dream for my own daughter and son!

Recently, this dream became a reality to Greg Jenkins. Greg is a California man who was searching for a blessing to speak over his son and his bride. He asked me if I had a blessing specifically for a wedding. I told him I didn’t have any but I asked him to send me what he found, if any.

A few weeks later, I got an email from Greg. Unfortunately, he didn’t find the blessing he was looking for. As a result (and to my surprise), he just created his OWN. What an AWESOME remedy!

I am extremely proud of what Greg wrote as blessing to the lovely couple. Check it out below and feel free to make changes to fit your specific situation.

Thanks to Greg for sharing it with the world!

I call you blessed!

Billy

PS: Don’t forget to let me know in the comments below what you think of Greg’s work.

Blessing for Tim and Kimberly

Tim and Kimberly, on behalf of your family and friends, I want to say that we love you!  You both are so special to us.  You are a gift from God, and you are God’s gift to each other and to Abigail.  We thank God for the privilege and honor of being your family.  Please know that we’ll be here, praying for you and encouraging you, for as long as we shall live.

We celebrate the two of you becoming one and we bless you with all the gifts, talents, and abilities to love each other and to learn from each other, as long as you both shall live.  We bless you with the ability to listen, and to anticipate each other’s needs, that your communication will never be stifled.  We bless you with a sense of humor, and the true gift of not taking yourselves too seriously, but that you would take each other very seriously.  We bless you with the ability to surprise each other, and to encourage each other in order to flourish in every area of your lives.

We bless you with the power to heal all wounds and rejection, neglect and abuse, and of all pain and loss that you may have suffered over your lifetime so far.  As you two are now one, we bless you with the Lord’s fresh start and a brand new beginning!  We bless you with overflowing peace, the peace that only the Prince of Peace can give; a peace beyond comprehension.  Remember that greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world.  Because of Jesus, you can have victory over every trial, situation, and circumstance.  Trust Him, especially when trials come your way.

We bless you with God’s abounding grace… His unwarranted merit.  May you willingly and proactively offer grace and forgiveness to each other daily.  Believe it or not, you will both fall from the pedestal you stand upon today. This is inevitable. There will be moments when you will be hurt and disappointed by each other.  We bless you with the ability to forgive each other, to ask for forgiveness, and to work hard at working things out.  As you will soon be parents, we bless you with the ability to work as a team and to bless Abigail with the love and security she will need and deserve.  She will feel most secured when she knows that the two of you love each other.

We bless your life together with fruitfulness—good fruit, much fruit, and the fruit that remains.  We bless you with success and opportunity as you remain faithful to the Lord and to each other.  We bless you with overflowing prosperity.  We bless you with the gifts of generosity and selflessness, enabling you to be a blessing to others.  May you faithfully and consistently bring the first fruits of your labor to the Lord as He is willing and able to provide for all your needs.  Never forget that He is your Jehovah Jireh, your provider.  When you trust Him with your finances, your family will be like a tree firmly planted by rivers of water.  He will never fail you.

We bless you with health and strength of body, soul, and spirit.  We bless you with spiritual influence, for you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.  We bless you Tim to be the gentle and loving spiritual leader of your home.  We bless you both with a depth of spiritual understanding and a close walk with your Lord.  You will not stumble or falter, for the Word of God will be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.  You will minister God’s comforting grace to others.   Beyond this circle gathered here today, we bless you with pure and edifying friendships throughout your lifetime together.  We bless you with abounding love.  You shall have favor with God and man, and you shall leave a great legacy to your children’s children.

Tim and Kimberly, you are blessed!  You are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus! And may you continue to be a blessing to Abigail and to everyone around you.

That is absolutely the best blessing that I have ever read. All aspects of life were covered, past, present, and future. We tend to overlook the blessings that God has bestowed upon each of us as Christians and then wonder why things are not going right. I think we need to bless our children with these things whether they are getting married or not! Change the
name(s) to fit “you and yours” today! What an inspiration and watch what God will do for you!

I agree Marilyn. This blessing is fantastic! You are right, we do need to bless our children regardless of where they are in life. Thanks for stopping by.

    Hey Billy,
Just thought I’d give you an update on how Tim and Kim are doing. They now have two very sweet children. Abby, who’s 2-1/2 and Westley, who’s 4 months old. They recently moved far away from living with us for the first 2-1/2 years of their marriage…we cried for two days, but we’re so proud of them! We continue to pray that they would have faith building experiences as they trust and grow in the Lord… He is faithfully blessing them!

  8. This is beautiful instruction that speaks to the heart of marriage. But there is something about the words “we bless you” that makes this all the more powerful, gives the words much more weight. It struck a chord deep within. To the point of tears. The author of this blessing understands God’s generosity in marriage and all of life. What a great example of how to pass on the goodness we’ve received in Christ. The author and his children are blessed indeed. Thank you.
