I think it’s interesting how our teenage children have a different view of us dads than we do of ourselves. I know why I had trouble staying closer than ten feet from my daughter at the movies last night. I kept thinking “how do I keep slipping away from her” when I suddenly realized SHE’S TRYING TO GET AS FAR AWAY FROM ME AS SHE CAN! What! My own daughter doesn’t want to be seen with me in public! Talk about a shot to the heart.
I thought I was cool. I thought I was hip. I thought I was the dad all of HER friends like to hang around with at the house. Yea, right. I finally realized I am more like the dads in this video. I THINK I’m hip, but in realty, I’m just…daddy. Watch this video and you will see what I mean.
Hey, that’s okay. Hip, cool, goofy or geeky doesn’t matter. I am here and I’m not going anywhere. That’s the message for us dads all over the world. Think what you will teenagers but just remember this, one day you’ll be JUST like us!
Stand strong fathers all over the world!
